Christian Dior

Christian Dior was a French coutourier known for founding the Maison Dior in 1946.  He revolutionized women's fashion with his 1947 "New Look" collection, which featured a cinched waist, full skirt, and rounded shoulders, a departure from the wartime austerity of the previous decade. Dior's impact extended beyond fashion, influencing the industry with licensing, ready-to-wear, perfumes and later home goods.
