Description

This fine antique sterling silver card tray was crafted in London in 1810 and reflects the elegant neoclassical style of the early 19th century. The tray is beautifully shaped with canted corners and a raised border, and its surface is richly decorated with intricate hand-engraved detailing. At the center is a heraldic armorial within a geometric cartouche, framed by a band of classical floral and foliate motifs. Originally used for presenting calling cards, this tray today makes a distinguished display piece as well as a functional serving accessory. A superb example of Georgian silver craftsmanship, it embodies both refinement and historical significance.
