Elegant and deeply evocative, this antique bow brooch is crafted in rich 14k yellow gold and attributed to Wordley, Allsopp & Bliss Co., dating to approximately 1909–1915.

The design features a refined bow form, carefully constructed to frame panels of original black silk ribbon, a material closely associated with Edwardian and late Victorian mourning jewelry. Delicate seed pearls are set in gold bands across the bow and at the central knot, adding a soft, luminous contrast to the somber textile. The reverse is finely finished and bears the maker’s mark, and the brooch appears to have been custom made to preserve and present the silk ribbon, likely repurposed from an earlier piece of mourning adornment.
